What is inside

Everything follows from your chart.

Tell it when and where you were born. The rest is built on that, not on a sun-sign column written for a twelfth of the planet.

Your natal chart

An interactive wheel with the Sun, Moon, eight planets, the lunar nodes, Lilith and the Part of Fortune. Tap any planet to see what it is doing and what it is talking to.

A reading written for you

Seven sections: an overview, your Sun, Moon and rising sign, your personal planets, your aspects and your elements. Written by AI from your own chart, not picked from a shelf.

Today, every day

A daily horoscope for your sign, with an affirmation, a lucky colour and number, and a short strip on what the sky is doing: Moon sign, phase and which planets are retrograde. Set a daily reminder for the time that suits you.

Listen instead

Have your horoscope and your reading read aloud, at the speed and in the voice you choose. Personal readings are spoken on your phone and never sent anywhere for voice.

Moon calendar

Every day of the month with its phase and Moon sign, and the exact time of each new, quarter and full moon. Drawn the right way round for your half of the world.

Sun calendar

When the Sun enters each sign this year, the equinoxes and solstices named for your hemisphere, and the day of your solar return.

The four elements

Fire, earth, air and water: where your Sun and Moon sit, what today's Moon adds, and a small self-care suggestion for each.

Love & friendship

Which signs sit easily with yours, which pull against it, and a quick check against anyone you like. For fun and reflection, and it says so.

Daily notes

A few lines a day, tagged with the Moon, with a prompt that follows the phase. Type or dictate. Look back and see how your moods track the sky.

Calculated, not guessed

The astronomy is done properly.

A chart is only worth reading if the positions are right. Most of the work in Luna & Sol is in getting them right.

  • Positions to about an arcminutePlanet longitudes come from an astronomical engine, with true obliquity and the equinox of date.
  • Four house systemsPlacidus, Whole Sign, Equal and Porphyry. Near the poles, where Placidus stops working, it switches to Porphyry and tells you.
  • The right hour, even in 1942Birth times are converted using historical timezone rules, including wartime double summer time. If your hour happened twice, or never happened, it asks.
  • Your hemisphere's MoonA waxing Moon is lit on the left in Brisbane and on the right in London. The app draws the one you see.

23 languages

Read it in your own.

Signs, phases, the daily reading, both calendars, elements, love & friendship and notes are translated in every one of these, and Arabic runs right to left as it should. The chart screens, settings and parts of the terms are still in English while translation catches up.

Questions

Good to know.

Do I need to know my birth time?

No. Without it you still get your Sun, Moon and planets and the aspects between them. The birth time adds your rising sign and houses, and settles your Moon sign on days when the Moon changed sign.

Who writes the readings?

Your natal reading and the horoscopes are written by Claude, an AI made by Anthropic, from your calculated chart and the day's sky. The AI writes the words; it never works out the positions. When no AI horoscope is available, the app shows a simpler daily reading built from the day's Moon. The app says all this inside as well.

Does it work without a connection?

Your chart, your reading and recent horoscopes are kept on your phone, and there is always a daily reading in your language even with no signal. Setting up your chart and writing a new reading need a connection.

Is astrology meant to be taken as fact?

No. Readings are for reflection and enjoyment. They are not medical, mental health, financial, legal or relationship advice, and they are written to avoid predicting illness, death or money.

When is it out?

It is in development for iPhone and Android. There is no release date yet.
